Alberto Ortega

Alberto Ortega est un artiste espagnol qui vit aux Etats-Unis depuis 2008. Pour son travail, Il construit des dioramas extrêmement détaillés de banlieues américaines des années 50 qu'il va ensuite mettre en scène à la manière d'un réalisateur de cinéma. Il peint ses tableaux en utilisant ces maquettes pour mettre en valeur chaque lumière, angle et personnage avec soin. Ses œuvres évoquent d'autres artistes, tels que le peintre Edward Hopper ou encore le photographe Gregory Crewdson. Il explique, dans un interview, être influencé par la peinture de paysage néerlandaise du 17ème siècle. Il en utilise d'ailleurs certains pigments.

Alberto Ortega is a Spanish artist who has been living in the US since 2008. He builds extremely detailed dioramas of American suburbs from the 50s that he will stage in the manner of a film director. He will then create paintings using these models to highlight each light, angle and character with care. His works evoke other artists, such as the painter Edward Hopper or the photographer Gregory Crewdson. In an interview, he explains that he is influenced by 17th century Dutch landscape painting. He uses some of these pigments.
