Récemment, un lecteur de LOT a attiré mon attention sur le livre d'Antoine Philias, Plexiglas. Nous sommes en 2020 à Cholet, et l'épidémie de Covid-19 va bientôt frapper la France et secouer le quotidien d'Eliott, 30 ans, sans emploi, et de Lulu, caissière chez Carrefour, qui approche de la soixantaine. Deux existences qui se croisent dans l'apparente banalité d'une galerie marchande. Ces destins de vies s'entremêlent avec beaucoup de détails, mettant en lumière l'importance de ceux qui gagnent peu, s'abîment la santé et constituent pourtant un maillon essentiel de notre société. Le roman pose aussi un regard lucide et touchant sur notre époque, et surtout sur des personnages dont il est urgent de raconter l'histoire.

Two existences that intersect in the apparent banality of a shopping arcade. These destinies of lives intertwine with many details, highlighting the importance of those who earn little, damage their health and yet constitute an essential link in our society. The novel also takes a lucid and touching look at our time, and especially on characters whose history it is urgent to tell.
