Élodie Bitsindou

Élodie Bitsindou est doctorante en histoire de l'architecture contemporaine, sous la direction de Jean-Baptiste Minnaert au Centre André Chastel, un laboratoire sous la tutelle de Sorbonne Université (Faculté des Lettres), du CNRS et du Ministère de la Culture. Sa thèse, actuellement en cours, porte sur la production de logements sous la forme de « nouveaux villages » périurbains en France des années 1960 aux années 1980. Son mémoire de Master, consacré aux œuvres de l'architecte espagnol Ricardo Bofill dans les Villes Nouvelles de la région parisienne, a fondé son intérêt pour l'architecture et l'urbanisme du second XXe siècle, en particulier à travers leur dimension utopique. Son intérêt pour le visible et le sensible l'a conduite à porter sa recherche à l'écran. Elle travaille actuellement sur un documentaire mettant en scène les Levittowns et les personnes qui y vivent.

Élodie Bitsindou is a PhD student in Contemporary Architecture history, under the supervision of Jean-Baptiste Minnaert at the André Chastel Center, a laboratory under the supervision of Sorbonne University (Faculty of Arts), the CNRS and the Ministry of Culture. Her thesis, currently in progress, focuses on the production of housing in the form of suburban "new villages" in France from the 1960s to the 1980s. Her Master's work, devoted to the works of Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill in the New Towns of the Greater Paris region, founded her interest in architecture and urbanism of the second 20th century, particularly through their utopian dimension. Her interest in the visible and the sensible has led her to bringing her research on screen. She is now working on a documentary portraying the Levittowns and the people who live in them.
